Why is resin art unique?
One of the key factors behind the rise in resin art's popularity is its versatility. Resin can be used to create stunning pieces on various surfaces such as canvas, wood, and even jewellery. This flexibility allows artists to experiment with different techniques and styles, pushing the boundaries of their creativity.
Work time of resin?
The working time of ArtResin epoxy resin is about 45 minutes: this is how long you have to work with the resin before curing sets in and it becomes too stiff to manipulate. You're best to apply the resin as soon as it has been thoroughly mixed for 3 minutes.
That is why planning and prepping your workspace and products is key before you start the actual art piece. The resin is self levelling and only stops moving when curing sets in which means you never know what your final product will look like until it is fully cured.
It takes about 24 hours for resin to set fully and at the right tempreture 3 days to be fully cured.
The end product is always a surprise and 2 pieces will never look exactly the same. Unique pieces
guaranteed!
What are the benefits of resin art?
Why you must try resin art:
Resin is one of the most versatile materials, artists have developed more complex works of art than ordinary canvas paintings. Resin is durable and long-lasting once it has dried,
making it the ideal addition to wooden furniture and art.
Impermeability
The molecules in the resin are tightly packed in the form of long chains with very little space in the molecules. These spaces are so small that they don’t allow anything to pass through including something as small as water molecules. This property makes it protect against any chemical or other intrusions.
Is resin waterproof?
Once cured, epoxy resin is waterproof.
Once it has finished bonding and curing, epoxy will prevent permeation by nearly any liquid or solid material, including water and humid air. Because of this feature, epoxy is frequently used in garage flooring, on shower walls, and as a coating for outdoor table tops.
What are some fun facts about resin?
Natural resins are produced by plants as a means of self-protection. These natural resins are then used in the creation of things like adhesives and agents to glaze food. It is also an important raw material in the making of perfumes and incense.
What are some cool facts about epoxy?
Epoxies are generally more heat- and chemical-resistant than many glues and can adhere to wood, metal, glass, stone and some plastics.
